The remote far-north territory of Nunavut in Canada’s Eastern Arctic is home to a rich, complex history and culture, where indigenous people are working to reclaim a tradition of gender fluidity and same-sex relationships. Based around a seminal Pride celebration, the film explores how decades of colonization and religion have erased traditional Inuit beliefs about sexuality and family structure, and how a new generation of Inuit are actively “unshaming” their past.
